The IPC International, a global association of enterprises of electronics industries, is organizing – third time in Hungary – the Hand Soldering Competition (HSC) as a side event of Innoelectro Fair and Conference in Budapest. The competition takes place at many professional events around the world with the same circuit boards, the same components and the same tools and technical equipment, and the winners of the national competitions will also be invited to the world championship organized at the Productronica exhibition in November 2023.
42 participants representing 26 companies took part in the 2023 competition.

Competition for Professionals
The professional competitors will be judged by IPC Master Instructors (MIT) on soldering a complex printed circuit board with a maximum time of 60 minutes in accordance with IPC-A-610 Class 3 criteria. Additional criteria will include the quality of the results achieved and of the assembly process, the overall electronical functionality of the assembly as well as the speed at which the assembly was produced.
The judges of IPC evaluate the contestants by scores according to worldwide equal rules.
Prizes for Professionals
Cash prizes will be awarded to the professionals: the winner and two runners-up.
1st place – € 300, 2nd place – € 200, 3rd place – € 100

Apart of the contestants’ individual performance the company entered the best team will be also awarded by the IPC and MELT (National Electronics Society of Hungary). The teams involve at least 2 contestants will be put in order according to the average scores what their contestants reached.
